On motion of Denison, of Baltimore county,
Leave was granted a special committee on Wild Fowl, to
bring in a bill entitled, an act to amend the 192d section of
article 3, of the public local laws of the revised code, in re-
lation to wild fowl.
On motion of Mr. Welch,
Leave was granted the Anne Arundel county delegation
to report a bill, fixing the compensation of jurors for Anne
Arundel county,
Mr. Kessler offered the following :
Ordered, That a special committee of five, be appointed by
the Speaker, whose duty it shall be, to inquire into the
financial condition of the State; and if in their judgment,
the one-half of the present direct tax is adequate to the
maintainance of the State's credit, said committee may report
a bill placing the other half to the school fund of the State;
the same to be divided between the different counties and the
city of Baltimore, by a pro rata distribution, taking the
latest census as the basis;

Mr. Morgan offered the following:
Ordered, That the committee on Ways and Means, be in-
structed to inquire, and report to this House as soon as possi-
ble, the farthest extent to which the several State taxes now
levied, may be abolished or reduced without impairing in any
manner, the ability of the State, regularly to meet its liabili-
ties;

On motion of Mr. Parran,
Leave was granted the Calvert county delegation to report
a bill, to amend the 107th section of the 80th article of the
code of the public general laws, which requires the Orphans'
courts, to fix the commissions of executors in all cases whether
claimed by them or not.
