more Hospital to apply a portion of their funds to the pur-
chase of certain parcels of ground;

Which was read the first time, and by special order the
second time.

Mr. Linthicum offered the following :

Ordered. That the committee on Claims is hereby directed
to pay to John Bradley, superintendent of the gas works,
and George Petcing, engineer of the furnace, four dollars per
diem for their services, during the session of the Legislature,
and that their names be placed upon the journal of accounts.

Which was adopted.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:

A Senate bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money
in payment for legal services rendered by Daniel M. Henry,
at the request of the Governor of this State;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Claims.

Also, the Senate bill entitled, an act to authorise the county
commissioners of Allegany county, to levy for the use of
Elizabeth A. Watson, as the heir of John Davis, deceased;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Allegany
county delegation.

Also, returned the House bill entitled, an act to refund to
Thomas Russell and Thomas Y. Canby, an over-payment of
tax on executors commissions;

Also, the bill entitled, an act to change the name of Daniel
Orrick Bosley, to Daniel Orrick, Junior.

Also, the bill entitled, an act to refund to Mrs. Susan
Boyle, of the city of Annapolis, certain taxes erroneously
paid by her.

Also, the bill entitled, an act to amend the eighty-fifth
section of article twenty-one, of the public local laws, by
raising the salary of the clerk of the commissioners of Wash-
ington county.

Also, the bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of
money for the payment of the claims of William L. W. Sea-
brook, Thomas J. Wilson, John Cox, J. Wesley White and
Thomas Godey.

Severally endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."
