Mr. Denison, of Balt. county, presented the following
memorial, which was read and referred to the committee on
Corporations, hereafter to be appointed :

To the General Assembly of Maryland:

The memorial of the Thistle Manufacturing Company, of
Baltimore county, sheweth:

That it was chartered by the act of Assembly, passed at
December session, 1834, chapter 243, and by the terms there-
of its charter expires at the end of the present session.

That two-thirds of the amount of its shares were paid in
as required by said charter, and the capital so invested being
large enough for all their purposes, they have never availed
themselves of the privilege of increasing it to the extent of
the other third.

And they pray that the capital may be limited to the
amount so actually paid in, and that their charter, so amend-
ed, may be continued for twenty years.

Geo. Kerb, General Agent.
Mr. Maxwell offered the following:

By the House of Delegates,

January 5th, 1860.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We propose, with the concurrence of your honorable body,
