No. 6, "Be it enacted that this act shall take effect from its
passage;"

Which amendment was accepted.

A bill entitled, an act to permit persons to whom free negroes
or mulatto apprentices are bound, in Worcester county, to hire
them out;                     

Was read the second time.

A bill entitled, an act to prevent the introduction- into this
State of fraudulent Lotteries and Lottery tickets;

Was read the second time.

Mr. Harris moved to amend by inserting in the ninth line, first
section, the words "nor more than one thousand dollars,"

Which amendment was adopted.               

Mr. Stone moved to amend by striking out the fourth sec-
tion;                                                                                                                                                             


Which amendment was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Kildow,                         

The House adjourned until to-morrow morning.

TUESDAY, January 22d, 1856.

Smith, of Baltimore city, Valiant, Hugg, Askew, Harrington,
Fiery, Reichard, Loughridge, Corby, Harding, Hall, Tower,
Kildow, Frey, Brown, Smith of Carroll, Buffington, Stewart,
Rowles, Merrick, Heath, Wickes.

The proceedings of yesterday, were read.
