A bill entitled, an act to prevent obstructions in Union Dock
in the city of Baltimore;                                               

Was read the second time.                                                 

Mr. Abbott offered the following amendments :

Strike out in the 3d line of section 1st, the word "to," and in-
sert "in," and add "ing" to the word "enter," so as to read "in
entering Union Dock;"

Also, in the same line, strike out the word "not" after the
word "vessel" in the second line of section 1st, insert the words
"boat, float or raft;'"

In the 4th line of section 3d, after the word "vessel" strike out
all the remainder of the line; also all of the 5th line, and insert,
"to be paid into the school fund of the State of Maryland;" and

"Section 4th. And be it enacted, That the provisions of this
act, are hereby extended to all the private docks in the city of
Baltimore;"                                                        

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following House bills:

A bill entitled, an act to provide for the formation of corpora-
tions for the building of Railroads in St. Mary's county;

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the President and Direc-
tors of the Book Concern and Periodical of the Methodist Protes-
tant Church;

A bill entitled, an act to give the leave of the Legislature to
the devises and bequests of Ann P. White, late of Worcester
county, deceased, for the receipt of Pitts creek congregation or
Presbyterian Church, and of the Methodist Episcopal Church in
said county;

A bill entitled, an act to authorize the devises or bequests of
Mary E. A. Reed, of Caroline county to the trustees of the Meth-
odist Episcopal Church in Greensborough and the vestry of the
Protestant Episcopal Church, of St. John's Parish, both in said
county;
