The Speaker of the House of Delegates of Md.
Sir:—I herewith send you the report of the Principal of Alle-
gany county Academy, just made to the Board of Trustees, and
ask that you will lay it before the House of Delegates. , The Al-
legany county Academy is now in a very prosperous condition.
Some three or four years ago, the Board of Trustees with the aid
of liberal contributions on the part of our citizens, erected and
furnished an Academy building, large and commodious, sufficient
to accommodate some two hundred pupils. The Board have also
from the same source provided for the Academy suitable Chemical
and Philosophical apparatus. As you will see by the report of
the Principal, the required number of "free students" have been
constantly in attendance.
The Board of Trustees make the report of the Principal of the
Academy, part of their report to the Honorable Body over which
you preside.
All of which is respectfully submitted.
