session 1826, chapter 189, and additional to the supplement of
1844, chapter 208;

Was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.                                     

A bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act to incorporate the
Baltimore Steam Packet Company, by authorizing said Company
to make contracts for breaking tracks through the ice;

Was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.

Also returned                                     

A bill entitled, a further supplement to the act passed at De-
cember session 1825, chapter 62, entitled, an act to provide for
the public instruction of youth in primary schools throughout this
State, so far as the same relates to Dorchester county.

A bill entitled, an act for the payment of legal fees due to
James L. Martin, Esq., of Talbot county for services rendered
as Prosecuting Attorney;

Severally endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

And also a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the White Hall,
Jarrettsville, and La Grange Turnpike Company;

Passed by yeas and nays with the proposed amendment;

Section 1st, line 7, after the word "incorporate" insert "which
said capital stock shall consist of twelve hundred shares of twen-
ty-five dollars each."

Amendment assented to and passed by yeas and nays as fol-
