756                JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS. [Mar. 7,

                                                    March 7th, 1856.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully request your Honorable Body to return to the
Senate a bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money to R.
B. Carmichael, D. C. H. Emory and Grafton L. Dulaney, which
was rejected yesterday by the Senate.                                     

By Order,
C. Harwood, Secretary.

Also returned the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to build a bridge over the River Patapsco,
at Ferry Bar;

A bill entitled, an act to authorize the county commissioners of
the several counties of this State to build bridges in their respec-
tive counties, and to levy for the cost thereof;                   

A bill entitled, an act to appoint commissioners to run out and
mark the line between election district No. 1 and 4, in Allegany
county;                                                                                   

A bill entitled, an act to authorize the county commissioners of
Allegany county to hear and determine the appeal of John Ever-
ett, of said county, in regard to the valuation and assessment of

his property in said county;                          

A bill entitled, an act to authorize the clerk of the Circuit Court
for Talbot county, to have certain record books in his office re-
bound;                                                                     

A bill entitled, an act to refund to Thomas J. Brice and John
Brice, of Anne Arundel county, a sum of money therein named;

A bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Moore N. Falls, Presi-
dent of the company owning the steamboat Herald, for services
rendered the State;

A bill entitled, an act to refund to William Lockerman, James
E. Douglass, and Silas Browning, collectors, certain monies over-
paid into the Treasury;

Severally endorsed "passed by yeas and nays;"             

And delivered a bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act pass-
ed at January session 1552, chapter 239, entitled an act to extend
the civil jurisdiction of justices of the peace, and to prescribe
their powers and duties;
