the payment of certain claims therein mentioned;

The rules were suspended to take up a bill entitled, an act to
simplify and amend the Law of Attachment;

Which was read the second time, and

Three fourths of the members concurring, was read the third

The rules were suspended to take up a bill entitled, an act to
provide for the erection of a new dormitory to the Maryland Pen-
itentiary, and making suitable provision for a chapel and for in-
sane persons confined in said Penitentiary;

On motion of Mr. Partridge,                 

The said bill was postponed indefinitely.

The order of the day being a bill entitled, an act to reduce
taxes heretofore imposed by authority of this State.
