On motion of Mr. Lester,
The House took up the bill entitled, an act to restrict the grant-
ing of licenses to retail intoxicating liquors in this State.
Mr. Stubbs offered the following amendment :
In section 4, line 11, after "prosecution" add "once his li-
cense shall be suppressed;"

Amendment assented to.

Mr. Harris offered the following amendment:

In 4th section, 3d line, after the word "shall" insert "know-
ingly."                                 

On motion of Mr. Harris,         

The 5th section was reconsidered,

And offered the following amendment:

In 5th section, strike out "fifty" in 9th line and insert "twen-
ty;"

In 11th line strike out "two hundred" and insert "fifty;"

Amendments assented to.

Also offered the following amendment:

In section 6, strike out in lines 10 and 11, to the word "dol-
lars;"                   

Which was rejected.                                       

Mr. Stubbs offered the following amendments:             

In section 6, line 5, after the word "one" add "hundred;"
Also, in same section, line 12, after words "ninety days" add
"and his license shall be suppressed;"

In section 7, line 7, after the word "suppressed" strike; out all
the remainder of said section.
