The said bill was then sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Askew,
The rules were suspended and leave was granted the com-
mittee on Ways and Means to introduce a bill entitled, an act
more effectually to protect the revenue of the State, and to give
Justices of the Peace jurisdiction in certain cases relating
thereto.
On motion of Mr. Valiant,
Leave was granted the committee on Ways and Means to in-
troduce a bill entitled, an act to prevent the sale or barter, under
license, to traders of goods, wares and merchandise, in any other
place than a store or warehouse, and in a fixed place of busi-
ness for such selling and bartering, being a further supplement
to the act of 1827, chapter 117, entitled, an act to regulate the is-
suing of licenses to traders, keepers of ordinaries and others.
Mr. Frazier offered the following order:
Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be directed to close the
journal of accounts on Wednesday next, the 5th inst.
