Mr. Brengle, from the committee on Internal Improvements,
reported favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to incorpo-
rate the Queen Ann's and Kent railroad company.

Also, favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to incorpo-
rate the Kent county railroad company.

Mr. Wright, from a select committee, reported a bill entitled,
a supplement to an act entitled, an act to authorise the construc-
tion of a branch to the Liberty and Franklin Plank or Turnpike
road from Jamison's Mills, to change the name of the same, and
for other purposes,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Chilcoat reported a bill entitled, an act to confirm and
make valid the appointment of trustees of the Particular Bap-
tist Gunpowder Church, of Carroll county;                             

Which was read the first time.                 

Mr. Heath, from the committee on Education, to whom was
referred sundry reports from schools and academies,

Reported favorably thereon.                                 

Mr. Roberts presented a petition of sundry citizens of Queen
Anne's county, praying the Legislature to appropriate the amount
due the Eastern Shore for Internal Improvements.

Also, a petition from 44 citizens of Queen Ann's county, ask-
ing $200,000, or more, for the Maryland and Delaware Railroad;
to be taken from that part of the fund which the Legislature
may see proper to expend in Queen Ann's, Talbot and Caroline
counties.

Also, a similar petition from 27 citizens of Queen Ann's

county;                                                                           

Which were severally referred to the committee on ways and
means.

On motion of Mr. Davis,                                 

The House took up the bill entitled, an act to repeal an act
entitled, an act to provide for the appointment of a State Agri-
cultural Chemist, and to abolish said office;

Which was read the second time, three fourths of the members
concurring;
