A bill entitled an act to incorporate certain persons as Trustees
of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Princess Ann, in Somerset
county to be called the "Antioch Church" and to vest the pro-
perty of said church in said Trustees, with the proposed amend-
ment:                                                                                         
Amendment Proposed.

Section 1st. Strike out after word "not" in the 3rd line from
the top, the words "at any one time to the extent," and insert,
the word "exceed."           

                                                                      

On motion of Mr. Lawson,                     

The consideration of the amendment was laid over informally.

On motion of Mr. Lester,                                                           

The House took up for consideration the unfavorable report
upon the bill entitled, an act to regulate and restrict the granting
of licenses to retail intoxicating liquors in the State;                       

Which said report was rejected.

On motion of Mr. Lester,             

The House then took up the bill on that subject.
Mr. Davis offered the following amendment:

In Sec. 1st, lines 25 and 26, strike out "the sum of two hun-
dred dollars" and insert "such sum as may be required by law;"

Amendment assented to.                                                   

Mr. Harris offered the following amendment:

In the 5th line of section 1st, strike out "Judge of the Circuit
Court" and insert "Judges of the Orphans' Court;"

Amendment assented to.                                             

Mr. Stubbs offered the following amendments :

Strike out the word "twenty" in the 9th line of section 1st,
and insert "a "majority of the;"

Strike out "in the immediate vicinity." in the 9th and 10th
lines, and substitute "one mile,"                        

Strike out the words "the City of Baltimore" in the 11th line,
and insert "any incorporated town or city;"

In 11th line, strike out "three" and insert "five;"
