On motion of Mr. Hall,
The rules were suspended to submit the following resolution:

Resolved, By the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor be and he is hereby requested to issue a commission in
the usual form to the Hon. Anthony Kennedy, as Senator, to rep-
resent this State in the Congress of the United States for six
years from the 4th of March 1837;

Which was read the first time, and                       

On motion of Mr. Hall,

Three fourths of the members concurring, the said resolution
was read the second time, and adopted.

The said resolution was sent to the Senate.                           

On motion of Mr. Kennedy,

The rules were suspended to have bill 242, made the order
of the day for Tuesday, the 4th of March inst.

On motion of Mr. Merrick,                                           

The rules were suspended to take up the resolutions reported
by the committee on Judiciary, on the petition of James Wingate;

Was read the second time, and adopted.

The said resolution was sent to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills :

A bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act passed at January
session 1854, chapter 172 entitled, an act to regulate fisheries in
the waters of the Potomac river, within the jurisdiction of Mary-
land, and to protect the breed of fish therein;

Which was read the first time, and referred to Messrs. Stone,
Bowie and Merrick.
