The said bill was then read the second time.                           

The bill entitled, an act to provide for the payment of fees to
Robert Ford and Frederick Stone for legal services,

Was read the second time.

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the village of Leonard-
town, in St. Mary's county,         

Was read the second time,

The bill entitled, an act for the relief of E. A. Talbott, late
sheriff of Howard county,                                                   

Was read the second time.                                               

The bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money for the
relief of the Maryland institution for the instruction of the blind,

Was read the second time.                                                      

The House took up for consideration                                  

The bill entitled, an act to regulate the returns of elections for
municipal officers in the city of Baltimore.                                 

Mr. Lester offered the following amendment:                         

In line 2, section 1, strike out "three" and insert "five;"     

Which was adopted.                                                               

The said bill was then read the second time.                           

The House took up for consideration        

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Mutual Fire Insu-
rance company of Calvert county;

Mr. Wilson of Calvert offered the following amendments:

R. Sollers, Joseph Griffis, James T. Wall, Hammond Stewart,
Lewis Griffith and John T. Turner."
