508             JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS          [Feb. 28,

The said tellers then proceeded to the Senate chamber for the
purpose of counting the ballots;

During the absence of the Tellers;
On motion of Mr. Kildow,
A call of the House was ordered,

When the following members were ascertained to be present:
Messrs. Speaker, Harris, Neff, Waters, Wilson, of Calvert,
Dowell, Stone, Merrick, Chilcoat, Rankin, Cullings, Heath,
Roberts, Toadvine, Lawson, Wilson, of Somerset, Daniel,. Dail,
Thomas, Scott, Stubbs, Miller, Goldsborough, Rolph, Smith, of
Wor., Brengle, Davis, Carper, Hauver, Duvall, Silver, Whitby,
Stack, Kennedy, Partridge, Smith of Halt. City, Abbott, Lester,
Hugg, Harrington, Witmer, Reichard, Loughridge, Corby, Hall,
Tower, Wickes, Kildow, Frey, Brown, Smith, of Carroll, Buf-
fington, Stewart, Rowles.                     

On motion of Mr. Rankin,

Further proceedings under the call of the House, were dispen-
sed with.

After some absence the tellers returned and reported that fifty-
nine votes in all were cast; of which Reginald D. Woodward had
fifty-two votes, and there were seven blanks;

The Speaker thereupon declared Reginald D. Woodward duly
eleced a Director on the part of the State, in the Farmers' Bank
of Maryland at Annapolis.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered           

The Senate bill entitled, an act to authorize the Commissioner
of the Land Office to issue a patent for certain land in Baltimore
county;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays;"               

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Wickes,
The House adjourned.
