The Senate bill entitled, an act to amend an act to incorporate
the Mechanics Exchange and Savings Company, for the purpose
of making loans, collection of notes and drafts, &c., passed Jan-
uary session 1852;

lowing report of the proceedings of a convention of military of-
ficers of this State, held in Baltimore city on the 8th of February,
1856;                                                                                   

REPORT.

At a meeting of the officers of the Maryland Militia, convened
at Baltimore on Friday evening, the 8th of February 1856, to
confer with the military committee of the Legislature on the sub-
ject of the organization of the Militia;

Major Gen. George H. Steuart in the Chair, and Capt. Salman,
Secretary.                                                                                 

A general plan of organization was submitted by Brig. Gen.
