The question being,
"Will the House assent to the proposed amendments?"

Also returned the bill entitled, an act relative to the establish-
ment of a light house on Sandy Point, in Anne Arundel county,
and to cede to the United States the jurisdiction of the State of
Maryland in, to and over the same ;"

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays, with the proposed amend-

ments;"                                                      

Amendments PROPOSED.

Insert after the word "Ridout," in the second line of section
1st, the words "Lemuel G. Taylor."

At the end of section 2, add the following, "reserving, never-
theless, to the State of Maryland, concurrent jurisdiction over the
said land, so far as may be necessary to authorise the service there-
on of all process issued by any court or officer of the said State,
and the punishment by said State of any crimes thereon commit-

ted;"
