Mr. Roberts reported a bill entitled, a supplement to an act
entitled, an act to continue the corporate existence of the several
banking institutions therein mentioned, so far as relates to the
Easton Bank of Maryland;

Which was read the first time.                 

Mr. Rankin reported a bill entitled; an act for the relief of
Sophia Conway, a free negro of Baltimore county;
Which was read the first time.                                                                   

Mr. Rankin reported a bill entitled, an act to provide for the
erection of a bridge over the Little Gunpowder Falls, between
Baltimore and Harford counties:

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Chilcoat reported a bill entitled, an act requiring Joshua H.
Hynes, Samuel P. Storm and Pleasant Hunter, late Sheriffs of
Baltimore county, to make statements to the Comptroller of the
amount of State taxes due from them, and to pay the same into
the Treasury at such limes and on such conditions as are therein

Provided.                                       

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Wright reported a bill entitled, an act to authorise the
County Commissioners of Baltimore County to levy the sum of
money therein mentioned;       

Which was read the first time.                                     

Mr. Roberts reported a bill entitled, an act to cede to me
United States, the jurisdiction of the State of Maryland, in, to
and over a part of Hog Island, in the Potomac river;                 

Which was read the first time.                                               

Mr. Carper, from a select committee, reported a bill entitled,
an act to simplify and amend the law of attachment;


Which was read the first time.                                       

Mr. Wright, from the majority of a select committee, reported
favorably a bill entitled, an act to provide for the completion of
the Court House and other appropriate buildings in Baltimore
county, and to provide for the payment of contingent expenses
incurred in the erection of the same by the commissioners under
the act of 1854, chapter 144;

Which was read the first time.
