"Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
and after the date of its passage."

Amendments assented to.                                  

The said bill was then read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.           

The order being the bill entitled, an act for the relief of Thomas
J. Peirpoint and the heirs of Francis Feelemyer, of Baltimore
county,                    

Mr. Partridge offered the following amendment:

Strike out "them as," and insert "the."


On motion of Mr. Rankin,                  

           

The said bill was recommitted.                        

A bill entitled, an act entitled, an act to appropriate a sum of
money to Joseph M. Palmer, for services rendered the State, in
the case of the State vs. Eli V. Parish, Isaac D. Rowe, George
Hape and George Otto, indicted for burglary, in the Circuit Court:
for Carroll county, and removed thence upon affidavit to the Cir-
cuit Court of Frederick County;

Mr. Smith, of Carroll, offered the following amendment:
In the fourth line of section first, strike out ''one," and insert

two;"

Said amendment was rejected.                               

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Brookville, Sandy
Spring and Laurel Stage Company of Maryland.

Mr. Hall offered the following amendments:
AMEMDMENTS Proposed :
Section 4, second line, insert "five" instead of "three."
Section 5, sixth line, insert "or meetings" after the word

"elections."                               

Section 7, second line, insert "three-fourths" instead of "two-
thirds."

Amendments assented to.                            

Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for the third reading.
