The said bill was then sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

The rules were suspended, to enable him to report favorably
from the select committee, on a bill entitled, a supplement to the
act entitled, an act for the promotion of internal improvements,
passed at December session 1835, chapter 395, with an accom-
panying report.          

Which was referred to the committee on ways and means.

Mr. Goldsborough moved that 500 copies of the accompany-
ing report be printed.

Mr. Silver moved that 100 copies be printed;
Which was determined in the negative.

The original motion to print 500 copies, was then determined
in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Hall,

The rules were suspended, to enable him to allow the Mont-
gomery county delegation to bring in a bill amendatory to the act
passed at the January session of 1854, chapter 249, entitled an
act for the relief of the sureties of J. W. Baker, late Collector of
Montgomery county.         

On motion Mr. Askew,           

                                   

The rules were suspended, to submit the following message:

               By the House of Delegates,

        February 15th, 1856.

Gentlemen of the Senate:                                            

We propose, with the concurrence of your honorable body, to
go into the election of a State Treasurer this day forthwith.

Dr Dennis Claude has been placed in nomination by the
House for that office, and we have appointed Messrs. —— and
---------tellers on the part of the House, to count the ballots

and announce the result.
