On motion of Mr. Wright,

                                   

Leave was granted to withdraw from the files of last session a
memorial of C. H. Owings with the accompanying documents;

On motion of Mr. Partridge,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill entitled, an act to repeal
so much of the act passed at December session 1844, chapter 5,
as allows the continuance of causes by consent so tar as relates to
Baltimore city;                                          

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Tower,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to reduce the capital
stock of the Swanton Coal and Iron Company;


Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.


On motion of Mr. Sudler,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill entitled, an act for the
more perfect registration of the free colored population of the State
of Maryland and for the augmentation of the school fund of the
several counties thereof;                                                  

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Stack,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to give Daniel Hubbard,
a free negro of Caroline county, the privilege of devising certain
property in Dorchester and Caroline counties.

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Carroll,             

Leave was granted to the Carroll county delegation to intro-
duce a bill supplemental to an act entitled, an act to incorporate
the town of Westminister in Carroll county by the name of the
city of Westminister, passed December session 1849, chapter 299.

Which was referred to the Carroll county delegation.

Mr. Partridge asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill sup-
plementary to an act to incorporate the South Baltimore Com-
pany.

Which was referred to Committee on Corporations.

Also leave to introduce a bill in relation to the acknowlege-
ment of deeds and other instruments heretofore made before Jus-
tices of the peace of Baltimore city and Baltimore county.

Which was referred to the Committed on Judiciary.
