Which was referred to the Kent county delegation.

On motion of Mr. Daniel,           

Leave was granted the Special Committee on the Penitentiary
to introduce a bill to provide for the purchase of a suitable libra-
ry for the Maryland Penitentiary;                           

Also, a bill to provide for the election of a chaplain to the Ma-
ryland Penitentiary;

And, also, a bill to provide for the releasing of arrearages on
account of former loans to the Maryland Penitentiary.

On motion of Mr. Davis,

The rules were suspended to allow him to present a petition of
G. W. Richardson and ninety-nine others, praying a repeal of
the Stamp Act,

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.
On motion of Mr. Wright,

Leave was granted the Baltimore county delegation to intro-
duce a bill for the relief of Thomas J. Pierpont and the heirs of
Francis Felemyer, of Baltimore county.                             

On motion of Mr. Hugg,

Leave was granted the Baltimore city delegation to introduce

a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the South American Trading

Company,                                                    

Which Was referred to the Committee on Corporations.
On motion of Mr. Silver,

Leave was granted the Harford county delegation to introduce
a bill to incorporate, the "Chiriqui Real Estate" Company,

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

On motion of Mr. Fiery,                                                   

The rules were suspended, to enable him to present a petition
of sundry citizens of Washington county, asking a removal of
the election polls from Cavetown to Smithsburg, in said county.
Which was referred to the Washington county delegation.

On motion of Mr. Partridge,

Leave was granted the Baltimore city delegation to introduce
a bill for the relief of the heirs at law of John Cochran, late of
Newcastle county, Delaware, deceased, and to authorize the de-
livery of a certain deed to said heirs at law,

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.
