Mr. Brooke presented the annual report of the trustees of the
Upper Marlboro' Academy, in relation to the condition of said
institution,                                                                          

Which was referred to the Committee on Education.

Also, presented a memorial from forty-six citizens of
Prince George's county, praying a modification of the act of
1840, chapter 154, entitled an act relating to hawkers and ped-
dlers, and for other purposes.

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary:

Also, presented a memorial from fifty-eight citizens of
Prince George's county, praying the repeal of the act of 1854,
chapter 196, in so much as the same relates to Prince George's'
county.                 

Which was referred to the Prince George's county delega-
tion.

Mr Stewart presented a petition of Thomas J. Hood and oth-
ers, of Howard county, praying the Legislature to, pass a law for
the better protection of useful birds.

Which was referred to the Howard county delegation.

Mr. Partridge presented the petition of Wm. G. Gorsuch, L.
M. Reynolds and others, praying an act of incorporation for
Susquehannah Tribe, No. 27, Red Men.                 

Which was referred to Committee on Corporations.             

Mr. Hall presented the petition of Wm. Dunn and others,
praying the passage of a law to protect stock along the line of a
the Baltimore and Ohio railroad.

Which was referred to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments.                                                                               

Mr. Dorsey presented the petition of three hundred citizens of
the State of Maryland, for the better protection of useful birds.

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel and Howard county
delegations.                                                                           

Mr. Sudler presented a memorial from the Visitors and Gov-
ernors of Washington College.               

Which was referred to a select committee of one from each
county on the Eastern Shore, composed of Messrs. Sudler,
Goldsborough, Scott, Parker, Clark, Toadvine, Stack, and

Mr. Neff presented a memorial from Thomas F. Owens and
others, for the passage of an act to provide for a uniform system.
