Mr. Neff presented the memorial of H. M. Murray, ask-
ing payment for professional services rendered the State,,

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Brengle presented the petition of Philip Reigart, pray-
ing the Legislature to refund certain income tax paid by him.

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims,

Mr. Brengle presented the petition of John Shaw, praying
the Legislature to pass a special law for the relief of himself and

wife,

                                                                                             

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

The speaker laid before the House the following report:
To the Honorable, the General Assembly of Maryland:

The report of Edward D. Martin, the Clerk of the circuit
court for Worcester county, respectfully states that he has paid
into the treasury of the State of Maryland, during the fiscal year
beginning on the, first clay of September, 1854, and ending on the
first day of September, 1855, the sum of three thousand one
hundred and thirty-three dollars and ninety-six cents ($3,133.96);
which is hereby reported in accordance with the act of assembly.
Given under my hand this third day of January, 1856.

Clerk Circuit Court Worcester Co.

Also, a similar report from the clerk of the circuit court of
Baltimore county,

Which, on motion of Mr. Brooke, were referred to the Com-
mittee on the Judiciary.             

The Speaker also presented the report of S. R. Waters, Inspec-
tor of Tobacco at Warehouse, No. 5 ;

Also, the report of M. M. Duvall, Inspector of Tobacco at
Warehouse No. 2;

Which, on motion of Mr. Brooke, were referred to the Com-
mittee on Inspections.

Mr. Stone presented the petition of Peter W. Crain and other
citizens of Charles county, to release William Nevet, late Collec-
tor from the payment of interest.                               

Which, was referred to the Committee on Claims.               

Mr. Dorsey presented the petition of James Iglehart &, Co., and
178 citizens of Anne Arundel, praying the repeal of the act of
1854, chapter 194, so far as the same relates to the city of An-
napolis.
