Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Duvall presented a petition of John Carroll Walsh, Joshua
Wilson, and others for a change in the road laws of Harford
county;

Which was referred to the Committee on Roads;

Mr. Hall presented a petition of John Waters and 92 other
citizens of Howard, Anne Arundel, Prince George's and Mont-
gomery counties, praying an amendment of the road laws;

Which was referred to the Committee on Roads.

Also a petition of Silas Browning, late collector of tax in
Montgomery county, for refunding a sum of money erroneously
paid into the treasury;

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

On motion of Mr. Roberts,                       

Leave was granted to bring in a bill to increase  the pay of the

Sheriff of Talbot county for the board of persons   committed to
the jail of said county;

Which was referred to a Select Committee composed of Messrs.
Roberts, Brooke, Stack.

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill authorising and empow-
ering the Trustees of the Parsonage property of the Methodist
Episcopal church in Centreville Circuit in Queen Anne's county
to sell a certain part of said parsonage property now held by them
in trust and to make a certain application of the proceeds of sale.

Which was referred to the Queen Anne's county delegation.

On motion of Mr. Harrington,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill for a supplement to an
act entitled, an act to incorporate the Curtis Creek wharf and
Railroad Company, passed at the Session of 1854.

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel and Baltimore city
delegation.

Mr. Silver submitted the following order:

Ordered, That 1000 additional copies of the report of the Se-
lect Committee to visit the Penitentiary, House of Refuge and,,
Asylum for the blind, be printed for the use of this House;

Which was rejected.                            

On motion of Mr. Tower,                            

Leave was granted to introduce a bill entitled, an act to autho-
rize the Mayor and councilmen of the city of Cumberland to in-
crease the annual levy of taxes in said city;

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.
