Leave was granted to introduce a bill to amend an act passed
May 31st, 1852, chapter 340, to exempt from attachment, ten
dollars of the wages or hire of any laborer or other employee, in
the hands of the employer;                                               

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Kennedy,                           

Leave was granted to the Prince George's county delegation
to bring in a bill to authorise the Commissioners of Prince George
county to reduce the valuation and taxes for 1855 of the proper-
ty of the Laurel Machine Company of said county;

Which was referred to the Prince George county delegation.

Mr. Lester offered the following order,

                                                     

Ordered, That the Committee on Inspections be and they are
hereby authorised to have the services of one of the Committee
Clerks of this House during their investigations of the Tobacco
warehouse of Baltimore.

Mr. Goldsborough moved to amend by adding "and that the
Speaker of this House appoint an additional committee clerk pro
tempore;"

The order as amended was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Wilson of Calvert,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to introduce
a bill entitled, an act supplemental to an act entitled, an act to es-
tablish primary schools in Calvert county and to consolidate the
Academy Fund of said county, with the primary school fund,
passed January Session 1854, chapter 105.

Mr. Sudler asked leave to report the following bills, viz.

A bill entitled an act to authorise the Orphans' Court of Kent
county, and Justices of Peace, binding out negro children to reg-
ulate freedom dues to the apprentices and secure a compensation to
the parents or other persons for raising such children;           

Which was referred to the Kent county delegation.

A bill entitled, an act to rehear and re-examine the question of

damages on the road to Mrs. Ann Brown's landing;

Which was referred to the Kent county delegation.

A bill entitled, an act relating to free negroes in Cecil, Kent,
and Queen Anne's counties, passed at the December Session 1849,
Chapter 538.

Which was referred to the Committee on Colored Population.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the County Commissioners
of Kent county to make, establish, alter, and clear public land-
ing places of said county;
