assessable property of said county a sum not exceeding; one thou-
sand dollars to be applied to the repairs of the courthouse of said
county;

Which was referred to a Select Committee composed of Messrs.
Merrick, Stone, and Harris.                                           

Also a petition of the Commissioners of Charles county pray-
ing to be authorized to sell the warehouse property of said coun-
ty and apply the proceeds thereof in aid of the ordinary revenues
of said county:

Also a petition of the County Commisioners of Charles coun-
ty, praying certain alterations and amendments in the road laws
of the State;

Mr. Brengle presented a petition from twenty citizens of Fred-
erick county praying the passage of a law restricting the issuing
of licenses to hawkers and pedlars;

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Lester presented a memorial of S. C. Aldridge and 49
other citizens of Baltimore, opposed to the erection of a bridge
across the Patapsco river,                                   

Which was referred to a Special Committee, already appointed
on the subject.

Mr. Dorsey presented the petition of Samuel Brooks for com-
pensation as lamplighter for eleven days of the last session of the
Legislature;

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Davis presented a petition of sundry merchants of Fred-
erick city, praying the passage of a law, restricting the issuing
of licenses to hawkers and pedlars;

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Waters presented a petition of sundry citizens of Anne
Arundel county, praying that jurors and witnesses, attending
Anne Arundel county court, be allowed mileage;

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel county delegation.

Mr. Sudler presented a memorial of H. Becks, and thirty oth-
er citizens of Kent county, praying the erection of a new school

district in said county;                                                           

Which was referred to the Committee an Education.
