to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal churches at Kingston
and Merumsco, in Somerset county.

Mr. Brengle, Chairman of the Committee on Currency, report-
ed favorably on a bill entitled, an act to empower the Treasurer
to exchange and transfer the stock held by the State of Mary-
land in the Central Bank of Frederick, or to sell the stock
to the said Central Bank of Frederick.

Mr. Timmons, from the Worcester county delegation, reported
a bill entitled, an act to authorizing and empowering the
County Commissioners of Worcester county to levy such sum of
money as in their judgment may be necessary for the support of
Margaret Jane Paradise, of said county.

A bill entitled, an act to alter and amend the act passed at De-
cember Session, eighteen hundred and forty-nine, chapter one
hundred and One, entitled, an act to incorporate the Ocean Mu-
tual Insurance Company of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Valiant,
The further reading of the bill was considered the Second

reading.                                          

On motion of Mr. Kennedy,
The bill was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

On motion of Mr. Daniel,

The rules were suspended to report from the Select Commit-
tee, a bill entitled, an act prescribing when, where, and before
whom the Governor of the State shall take the oath of office;

Which was read the first time.
Also, Mr. Daniel, Chairman of the Committee on the part of
the House, to confer with a similar Committee, on the part of the
Senate, to take into consideration the report of the Commission-
ers to revise, simplify and abridge the rules of practice, plead-
ings," &c, reported a bill entitled, "an act to simplify and

abridge the rules and forms of conveyances."

                                 

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Timmons,

The rules were suspended to report a Bill from the Worcester
county delegation,
Which was read the first time.               

A bill entitled, an act to give the Justices of the Peace of
Worcester county, jurisdiction in all cases of assault and battery
hereinbefore given to the Magistrates' courts of this State, by the
act of 1835, chapter 201,                                                         

Which was read the second time with the following amend-
ments:
