The question recurring on the election of Postmaster ;

Mr. Daniel by leave of the House withdrew the order offered
yesterday.

Mr. Loughridge then offered the following order,

Ordered, That William H. Soper, of Baltimore county, be and
he is hereby appointed Postmaster to this House.

Which was read, and adopted ;                                     

The following message was received from the Senate, and
read:                                                                                    

                      By the Senate,

January 4th, 1856.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

The Senate has organized and is prepared to proceed with the
business of the Session.

The Senate has elected the Hon. George Wells their Presi-
dent, and appointed Chapman Harwood, Esq., Secretary.

C. Harwood, Secretary.

On motion of Mr. Rankin,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county Delegation to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate a Turnpike Company in Baltimore
county.

On motion of Mr. Daniel,

Leave was granted to the Somerset Delegation to introduce a
bill to incorporate certain persons to be therein named, as trus-
