"In line 19, Section 2, on page 2 of the printed Bill, begin-
ning with the word 'the, ' strike out all down to the word 'to, '
in line 24 of Section 2, on page 2 of the printed Bill, and in-
sent in lieu thereof the following: 'a point opposite Halder-
man avenue; thence Avith the center line of Halderman avenue
to the right-of-way to the Washington Railway Electric Com-
pany; thence across said right-of-way to the center line of
the Bunker Hill road; thence with the center line of Bunker
Hill road in a westerly direction, ' " [Which was read and
adopted. ]
"In line 9 of Section 3, on page 2 of the printed Bill, strike
out the word 'east' and insert in lien thereof the word 'north. '"
[Which was read and adopted. ]
"In line 11, Section 5, page 4 of the printed Bill, strike out
these words: 'the qualification for voters for Mayor and
Councilmen shall be the same as prescribed for voters by
the laws of the State of Maryland' and insert in lieu thereof
the following: 'all male citizens of the age of twenty-one years
who are qualified to vote under the laws of the State of Mary-
land and who have resided within the limits of said town for
a period of six months previous to the election at which they
present themselves to vote shall be qualified to vote for the
election of officers for the town of Brentwood and at. all elec-
tions provided for under this charter. ' " [Which was read
and adopted. ]
"In line 11 of Section 7, on page 5 of the printed Bill, after
the semicolon, insert these words: 'by asking each applicant
who presents himself to vote at the election for which they
have been appointed to conduct under oath these questions:
First, "Have you resided within the town of Brentwood for
a period of six months previous to this election?"; second,
"Are you a legal voter in the elections of the State of Mary-
land?" And should the answers of the applicant be in the
affirmative to both questions, then it shall be the duty of the
said Board of Elections Supervisors to allow such appli-
cant to cast his ballot, and should the answer of the said
applicant be in the, negative to either of the above questions,
then and in that event he shall not be allowed to vote.
Should the applicant answer either one of the above provided
questions falsely, he shall be guilty of the crime of perjury
and subject to the penalties provided by the law of the State
of Maryland. '" [Which was read and adopted. ]
