HOUSE BILL No. 404, BY MR. WILKINSON.
SUBJECT: EDUCATION BILL.

on its second reading, with amendments.

Amendments proposed by Mr. Allen:

No. 1—"On page 4, Chapter 2; line 3 of the printed Bill,
immediately after the word 'Governor, " insert the following:
'with, the advice and consent of the Senate. '"

No. 2—"On page 5, line 5 of the printed Bill, after the word
'Governor, ' insert the following: 'with the advice and consent
of the Senate. '"

No. 3—"On page 6, line 57 of the printed Bill, after the
word 'qualify, ' strike out the period and in lieu thereof insert
a comma, and add the following: 'subject to the consent of
the Senate at the next ensuing session. ' "

No. 4 "On page 9, line 18 of the printed Bill, after the
word 'issued, ' strike out the period and in lieu thereof insert
a semicolon and add the following: 'provided that this sec-
tion shall apply only to schools supported wholly or in part
by the State, "'

No. "5—"On page 9, Section 12-D, line 6 of the printed Bill,
after the word 'acceptance, ' insert the following: 'by said
Board, '"

No. 6—"On page 10, Section 17, line O of the printed Bill,
after the word 'institutions, ' insert the following: 'receiving
aid from the State. ' "

No. 7—"On page 11, Section 17-D, strike out in line 8 the
following: 'the State Board of Education' and all that follows
thereafter to the end of said Section 17-D. "

No. 8—"On page 12, Section 18 of the Printed Bill, com-
mencing in line 8, strike out the following: 'provided, that
these qualifications shall not apply to the present incum-
bent of the office, nor shall they affect his eligibility for re-
appointment, ' "

"No. 9 "On page 12, Section 19, line 6 of the printed Bill,
after the word 'final, ' strike out the period and insert in lieu
thereof a comma, and add the following: 'unless reversed by
the State Board of Education. '"

No. 10—-"On page 12, Section 19, line 10 of the printed Bill,
after the word 'writing, ' strike out the period and insert in
lieu thereof a semicolon, and add the following: 'provided
an appeal to Court may be taken for a hearing de novo. '"
