At 3. 45 o'clock P. M. the tellers returned and submitted
the following report:

The tellers appointed by the Senate and House of Delegates
to count the votes cast for Treasurer of Maryland beg leave
to report that:

The votes cast by the Senate were................ 27

The votes cast by the House were................ 94

Making in all............................ 121 votes

Of which number Hon. Murray Vandiver received. 56 votes
Hon. Henry A. Osborne, Jr... received............ 11 votes

Hon. Robert F. Duer received.................... 54 votes

We therefore report that no candidate having received a
constitutional majority, there is no election.

Mr. Allen submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

January 21, 1916.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
that the time fixed to take a ballot for the election of the-
State Treasurer shall be at 12. 30 o'clock P. M. on each and
every day on which the General Assembly shall be in session,
and that the procedure shall conform to the plan followed
in taking the first ballot on January 20, 1016, and that ballot-
ing, as aforesaid^ at the said hour shall continue from day
to day, when sessions are held, and until a State Treasurer
is chosen.
