The Senate met at 4 o'clock P. M.

The Journal of Tuesday, March 28, 1916, was read and ap-
proved.

PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND
OTHER PAPERS.

The president submitted a protest of the Business Men's
Association of Northwest Baltimore against the proposed
Fourth Regiment Armory site. [Which was read and referred
to the Committee on Finance. ]

Also a petition of the Burt Machine Company, by John P.
Whitehurst, Charles R. Schmidt and Henry O. Redue, urging
the passage of Bill making an appropriation for the comple-
tion of the Fourth Regiment Armory. [Which was read and
referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

Also a petition of the Old Town Merchants and Manu-
facturers Association of Baltimore, by Jacob W. Hook, presi-
dent, urging the passage of the Bill to have the Fourth Regi-
ment Armory included in the general bond issue. [Which
was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

Also a petition of Jacob W. Hook, President of the Old
Town National Bank, Baltimore, Maryland, urging the pas-
sage of Bill making an appropriation for the completion of
the Fourth Regiment Armory. [Which was read and referred
to the Committee on Finance. ]

Also a petition of the members of the Admiral Winfield
Scott Schley Post No. 65, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in favor
of the passage of House Bill No. 5, to give preference to honor-
ably discharged soldiers, sailors, etc., in making appointment
to offices and giving employment on public works. [Which
was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]
