Amendments proposed by Mr. Warfield:

"Strike out all of Section 1 of said Bill and insert in lieu
thereof the following:

'Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the plaintiff in all judgments recorded in the office
of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Carroll county shall pay
annually a tax of eight per centum upon the gross amount
of interest paid each year by the defendant or defendants to
the plaintiff or his assignee, to be collected by the County
Commissioners of Carroll county by suit if, necessary. '"
[Which was read and adopted. ]

"In Section 3, line 5, after the word 'public' add a period
instead of a comma, and strike out the balance of the section. "

SUBJECT: ROADS—QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY.

second time and ordered printed f or a third reading. ]

Mr. Williams, from Select Committee, reported favorably,
with amendments,

HOUSE BILL No. 636, BY MR. JANUS.

SUBJECT: BOND ISSUE FOR ROADS —CECIL
COUNTY.

Amendments proposed by Mr. Williams:

"In Section 1, line 8 of the printed Bill, after the word
'citizens' add the following: 'provided, however, that the first
$25, 000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, accruing from
the sale of bonds as hereinafter provided, shall be applied to
the completion of the road in the First Election District, now
unfinished and running from Cecilton to Warwick; and to the
road partially built but uncompleted which connects the State
road at Farmington with the State road at Bay View; and
to the building of a permanent road from the end of the State
road near Miller's Corner to the village of Cowantown. '"
[Which was read and adopted. ]

"In Section 9 of the printed Bill, strike out the words
'John H. Kimble, of Port Deposit, Warren J. Haines, George
E. L. Hess and Irving G. Griffith' and substitute therefor the
