Johnson and Kaufman. ]

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Cooper, from Committee on Finance, reported favor-
ably

SENATE BILL No. 500, BY MR. JONES.

SUBJECT: UNLAWFUL TO SEPARATE BABIES FROM
THEIR MOTHERS.

with the recommendation that it be referred to the Committee
on Judicial Proceedings. [Which was so referred. ]

Also favorably, with amendments,

SENATE BILL No. 235, BY MR. OGDEN.

SUBJECT: SALARIES OF PUBLIC SERVICE COMMIS-
SION, STATE INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT COMMISSION
AND STATE TAX COMMISSION.

Amendments proposed by Committee:

"Amend by inserting after the word 'commission' on the
third line of said title in printed Bill and before the word
'the' at the end of said line the words 'and restoring the
amount of said salaries to that provided in Chapter 180 of
the Acts of 1910. '"

"Amend by striking out, after and including the word 'that7
on the second line of page 4 of the printed Bill, down to and
including the word 'annum' on the seventh line of printed
Bill, and inserting in lieu thereof the following words: 'That
the salary of each of the Commissioners of the Public Service
Commission of Maryland, created by Chapter 180 of the Acts
of 1910, shall be restored to the salaries therein provided, so
that the salary of the chairman of the said Public Service
Commission of Maryland shall be six thousand dollars
($6, 000) per annum and the salary of each of the other two
commissioners shall be five thousand dollars ($5, 000) per
annum, provided that the increase in salary now received by
either of said commissioners, as increased by Chapter 750
of the Acts of 1914, shall not be reduced by this Act during
his present term of office, nor until after the expiration of
his term. '"
