Amendments proposed by Mr. Allen, by request:

No. 1—"Amend Section 9 of the Bill as printed for the
third reading by adding thereto the following: 'And pro-
vided further that nothing herein shall be construed to give
authority to construct or establish any sewerage system in-
volving the discharge of sewage, unless the same shall have
been purified by treatment in a settling or sterilizing plant,
or some other system, adequate for the purpose, as distin-
guished from storm-water or ground drainage, into the Chesa-
peake Bay or any of its tributaries, or into any stream, which
runs into Baltimore city. '" [Which was read and adopted. ]

No. 2—"Amend Section 10 of the Bill, as printed for the
third reading, by adding thereto the following: 'Provided,
however, that nothing herein shall be construed to repeal,
alter, or amend any law existing prior to the passage of this
Act, relating to the construction, operation or maintenance
of a sewerage system for Baltimore city. '" [Which was read
and adopted. ] [Which favorable report was adopted, which
was read the second time. ]

SUBJECT: CHEVY CHASE—MONTGOMERY COUNTY.

HOUSE BILL No. 493, BY MR. BROOKE.
SUBJECT: DOGS—MONTGOMERY COUNTY.

Amendment proposed by Mr. Jones: "On page 1, Section 1,
line 5, after the word 'dog, ' strike out the brackets and all the
matter contained therein, down to the word 'and' in line 10,
and insert in lieu thereof the following: 'except keepers of
kennels ^lio shall pay a county license of ten dollars per an-
num for less than 25 dogs; and 50 dogs, twenty-five dollars,
and each and every dog in such kennel shall be a thoroughbred
and the bona fide property of the keeper of such kennel. The
dog tax collectors shall issue a kennel license, which shall
specify the name of the owner, the name of the kennel and the
keeper of same. '" [Which was read and adopted. ] [Which
favorable report was adopted, which was read the second
time. ]
