peal Chapter 297 of the Acts of 1914, releasing certain ex-
treasurers of Baltimore county from liability. " [Which was

By Mr. Allen: Senate Bill No. 656, entitled "An Act to re-
peal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 138 and 141
of the Revised Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore county,
compiled by T. Scott Offut, Esq., title 'County Treasurer, ' and
to repeal Sections 145 and 148 of this title in so far as they
are inconsistent with Section 138, as hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments. " [Which was read the first time

By Mr. Kaufman: Senate Bill No. 657, entitled "An Act
to repeal Section 9 of Article 13 of Bagby's Annotated Code
of the General Laws of Maryland, title 'Bills of Exchange and
Promissory Notes, ' sub-title 'Legal Holidays, ' and to re-enact
the same, with amendment. " [Which was read the first time
and referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
By Mr. Johnson: Senate Bill No. 658, entitled "An Act
to add a new section to Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title 'Licenses'; said section to follow immediately
after Section 89 of said Article, to be sub-titled 'Additional
License Fees for the State, ' to be known as Section 89-A and
providing for increasing the license fees for the sale of liquors
in each of the counties, cities (including the City of Balti-
more), towns and villages of this State by saloons and res-
taurents, wholesale liquor dealers and jobbers, wholesale drug-
gists, bottlers and hotels, and for the payment of the increases
provided for to the Treasurer of the State for the general
purposes of the State. " [Which was read the first time and
referred to the Committee on Finance. ]
By Mr. Johnson: Senate Bill No. 659, entitled "An Act to
create and establish a publicity commissioner for the pur-
pose of disseminating correct information concerning the cli-
mate, resources, lands, products, markets and taxing features
of Maryland in reply to all queries concerning the same that
may come from without the State, and to prescribe the said
publicity commissioner's powers and duties and making ap-
propriations for salaries and the maintenance of his office. "
