ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Mudd it was ordered that Mr. Chesley
be excused from today's session on account of sickness.

By the President:

Ordered, That the thanks of the Senate are hereby voted
to Col. Jacob W. Hook, president of the Old Town National
Bank of Baltimore city, for his generous and courteous gift
of the handsome, useful pocket diaries for the year 1916.

By Mr. Warfield:

Ordered, That the Committee on Supervision of Employes
ascertain the number and makes of typewriters necessary for
the use of the Senate; make a contract for the hire of same
for the session and provide for their return at the end to
the owners thereof; said committee to make report to the
Senate, with such necessary orders to carry out the contract.
[Which was read and adopted. ]

The President submitted a report from St. John's College.
[Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

The Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
