The Senate met at 1 o'clock P. M.
Prayer by Rev. H. P. Baker.

The Journal of Friday, January 14, 1916, was read and
approved.

ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Cooper it was ordered that Senator Archer
be excused from today's session on account of sickness.

On motion of Mr. Mudd it was ordered that Mr. Chesley be
excused from today's session on account of sickness.

The President submitted the following message:
