HOUSE BILLS—FIRST READING.

The President distributed the following message from the
House of Delegates, being House Bill No. 636, entitled "An Act
to authorize the County Commissioners of Cecil county to pro-
vide for the permanent improvements of its roads and high-
ways; and, to that end, issue bonds to provide for the payment
for said improvement; and also for the appointment of an
auxiliary board to co-operate and act with the Board of County
Commissioners in the performance of the said work. " [En-
dorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas and nays. "]
[Which was read the first time and referred to Senators Wil-
liams, Cooper and Archer. ]

Also House Bill No. 600, entitled "An Act to repeal and re-
enact, with amendments, Section 235 of Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title 'Prince George's
County, ' sub-title 'Laurel, ' as the same was repealed and re-
enacted by the Acts of Assembly of 1890, Chapter 201, and
by the Acts of Assembly of 1912, Chapter 695. " [Endorsed:
"Read the third time and passed by yeas and nays. "] [Which
was read the first time and referred to Senators Holmead,
Johnson and Jones. ]

Also House Bill No. 634, entitled "An Act to repeal and re-
enact, with amendments, Sections 45-E, 45-F and 45-H of
Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title 'Howard County, ' sub-title 'County Commissioners and
County Collectors, ' as said sections were enacted by Chapter
315 of the Acts of 1910. " [Endorsed: "Read the third time
and passed by yeas and nays. "] [Which was read the first
time and referred to the Committee on Sanitary Condition of
State. ]

Also House Bill No. 204, entitled "An Act to amend the
Charter of Mount Airy, in Carroll and Frederick counties,
Maryland, by repealing Section W, Chapter 341, Acts of 1900,
and re-enacting the same as amended. " [Endorsed: "Read the
third time and passed by yeas and nays. "] [Which was read
the first time and referred to the Committee on Corporations. ]

Also House Bill No. 380, entitled "An Act to establish a free
bridge over Mattawoman Creek on the road leading from
Acton's Crossing in Charles county, Maryland, to Asbury
Church in Prince George's county, Maryland, and to provide
for free travel from Charles county to Prince George's county,
and to provide for the joint construction and maintenance of
said bridge by the County Commissioners of Charles county
and the County Commissioners of Prince George's county. "
