INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
By the President: Senate Bill No. 548, entitled "An Act to
compensate Bernard J. Hubbell for the permanent injuries
sustained by him on the eighteenth day of September, 1914,
while engaged in the performance and discharge of his duties
as one of the guards of the Maryland Penitentiary, and pro-
viding for a fair and just payment therefor by the State of
Maryland. " [Which was read the first time and referred to
the Committee on Finance. ]
By Mr. Speicher: Senate Bill No. 549, entitled "An Act
providing for the issuing and sale of bonds by the Mayor and
Council of Grantsville for constructing, erecting and main-
taining water works and sewerage in said town of Grants-
ville, condemn such land as may be necessary for the build-
ing of said works and to levy taxes on the assessable property
of said town to redeem said bonds and to pay the interest
thereon. " [Which was read the first time and referred to
Senators Speicher, Zihlman and Kaufman. ]
By the President: Senate Bill No. 550, entitled "An Act to
add an additional section to Article 5 of the Code of Public
General Laws, title 'Appeals and Errors, ' sub-title 'Costs, ' to
be known as Section 67-A. " [Which was read the first time

By the President: Senate Bill No. 551, entitled "An Act
to repeal Section 37-M of Chapter 73 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland of 1910, title 'Corporations, ' sub-
title 'Attachments. ' " [Which was read the first time and re-
ferred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
By Mr. Bomberger: Senate Bill No. 552, entitled "An Act
to declare the sanction and consent of the General Assembly
of Maryland to certain bequests contained in the last will
and testament of Sarah J. F. Cushwa, late of Washington
county, deceased, to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of
Hagerstown, Maryland. " [Which was read the first time and
referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
