corporate duly incorporated, of the sum of five hundred dollars
for the maintenance and care of the two family lots of the
Taylor family in the burying ground attached to Taylor's
Chapel, by the last, will and testament of Sarah R. Taylor, and
by a codicil thereto. " [Which was read the first time and re-
ferred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
HOUSE BILLS—FIRST READING.
The President distributed the following message from the
House of Delegates, being House Bill No. 583, entitled "An
Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendment, Section 73 of
Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
'Carroll County, ' sub-title 'Manchester, ' as amended by Chap-
ter 262 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1908,
authorizing the Mayor and Common Council of the town of
Manchester to levy a tax not to exceed thirty cents on the
one hundred dollars of assessed value of property within the
corporate limits of said town of Manchester, with certain
exceptions, for the improvement and management of said town
and other corporate purposes. " [Endorsed: "Read the third
time and passed by yeas and nays"] [Which was read the
first time and referred to Senators Warfield, Archer and
Frick. ]
