PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND
OTHER PAPERS.

The President submitted a petition of the Southern Associ-
ation of College Women, Maryland Branch, Baltimore, Mary-
land, by Anna H. Knipp, president, and Edith O'Connell Clarke,
secretary, in favor of State-wide Compulsory School Attend-
dance Bill, amendment to Child Labor Law, limiting hours of
labor and restoring the minimum age requirement for news-
boys. [Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings. ]

Also, by request, a petition of Mr. Albert Rosenberg, 1220
West Lanvale street, Baltimore, and one hundred others in
favor of the passage of Bill fixing the salary of patrolmen of
the State of Maryland at one hundred dollars. [Which was
read and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.

By the President, by request: Senate Bill No. 494, entitled
"An Act to fix the minimum salaries to be paid to certain
members of the police force, employed within the State of
Maryland. " [Which was read the first time and referred to
the Committee on Finance. ]

By the President: Senate Bill No. 405, entitled "An Act
establishing a Racing Commission in Maryland, regulating
the manner and time of holding running races therein and
providing for revenue to be derived therefrom and prescrib-
ing penalties for the violations of the provisions hereof. "
[Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance. ]

By the President: Senate Bill No. 496, entitled "An Act
appropriating the sum of two thousand dollars ($2, 000) to
the Board of Trustees of the Fifth Regiment Armory, for the
