On motion of Mr. Chesley is was ordered that Senator Mudd
be excused from this evening's session on account of important
business.

At 8. 10 o'clock P. M. the Secretary of State appeared and
delivered a message from the Executive.

At 8. 12 o'clock P. M., on motion of Mr. Cooper, the Senate
went into Executive Session.

At 8. 20 o'clock P. M. the Senate resumed legislative busi-
ness.

The Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
delivered the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OP DELEGATES,

January 11, 1916.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

Governor-elect Harrington will deliver his inaugural address
in the House of Delegates Chamber at 11. 30 o'clock, January
12. The House extends you a cordial invitation to be present
and has appointed Messrs. McDonough and Shartzer a com-
mittee to escort your Honorable Body to this hall.

Chief Clerk.
[Which was read. ]

Mr. Shepherd submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

January 11, 1916.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your invitation to participate in the in-
auguration of the Governor-elect in compliance with the re-
quirements of the Constitution and laws of the State, and we
respectfully concur therein.

By order:

P. WATSON WEBB,

Secretary.
