UNFINISHED BUSINESS.

The President laid before the Senate the Unfinished Busi-
ness, being

SENATE BILL No. 9, BY MR. SPEICHER.

SUBJECT: MANUFACTURE OR SALE OF SPIRITUOUS
OR FERMENTED LIQUORS IN THE STATE.

With amendments as printed in the Senate Journal of
February 18, 1916.

Pending consideration.

At 11 o'clock P. M., on motion of Mr. Mudd, the Senate
adjourned until Wednesday, March 1, at 12 o'clock noon.

ANNAPOLIS, Wednesday, March 1, 1916.

The Senate met at 12 o'clock noon.
Prayer by Rev. Julius Hofmann.

approved.

PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND
OTHER PAPERS.

By the President: Petition of the Baltimore Typographical
Union No. 12, Arthur L. Jackson, president, and Walter H,
Mules, secretary, urging the adoption and passage of Senate
Bill No. 130, introduced by Senator Ogden, providing for the.
right of initiative in our State Constitution. [Which was read
and referred to the Committee on Amendments to the Con-
stitution. ']

Also a petition of John A. Smith, a citizen of Maryland,
giving information as to the number of illicit distilleries
seized by the collector of internal revenue for the year 1915.
