mendations which it may deem desirable to make thereon. '"
[Which was read and adopted. ]

Also: "On page 15, Section 644, line 21 of the printed Bill,
after the words 'three months, ' at the end of the first para-
graph, insert the following: "Whenever the State Board of
Prison Control shall determine that prison discipline will be
furthered by transferring from the Maryland House of Cor-
rection to the Maryland Penitentiary or from the Maryland
Penitentiary to Maryland House of Correction any person sen-
tenced to either of said institutions for a crime committed
after this Act takes effect and shall issue its warrant to the
wardens of said institution directing such transfer, then the
said sentence of the Court shall operate to authorize such
transfer by virtue hereof. '" [Which was read and adopted. ]

Also: "On page 16, Section 657, line 1 of the printed Bill,
strike out the words 'forty-five thousand ($45, 000) dollars'
and insert in lieu thereof 'twenty thousand dollars. '" [Which
was read and adopted. ]

Also: "On page 16, Section 657, lines 2, 3, and. 4, strike out
the words 'for the maintenance of the Maryland Penitentiary
and the Maryland House of Correction. '" [Which was read
and adopted. ]

Also: "On page 16? Section 657, lines 6 and 7, strike out
the words 'and of every warden and other employes connected
with any of said institiutions. '" [Which was read and
adopted. ]

Amendment proposed by Mr. Zihlman: "Strike out the
words 'who shall be appointed without regard to political af-
filiation, 7 on page 3, lines 5 and 6 of the printed Bill, and in-
sert 'not more than two of whom shall be a member of any
one political party' in lieu thereof. '" Which was rejected by
yeas and nays as follows:
