pitals or other institutions; to repeal Section 37 of said
Article, sub-title 'Lunacy Commission, ' relating to voluntary
commitments, and re-enact the same, with amendments; to
repeal Section 41 of said Article, sub-title 'Lunacy Commis-
sion, ' relating to leave of absence or parole, and to re-enact
the same, with amendments; to add two new sections to said
Article, sub-title 'Maryland Asylum and Training School for
Feeble Minded, ' the same to follow immediately after Section
46 thereof, to be known respectively as Sections 46-A and
46-B, and to provide for the payment for the maintenance
and support of idiotic, imbecile and feeble-minded persons
now committed and hereafter to be committed to said Mary-
land Asylum and Training School for the Feeble Minded;
and to add a new section to said Article, to be sub-titled
'Liquor and Drugs, ' the same to follow immediately after
Section 66 thereof, to be known as Section 67 and to pro-
hibit the selling, giving, sending, procuring or purchasing
of spirituous or intoxicating liquor or narcotic drugs to or
for any inmate, patient, attendant or employe of any State
hospital for the insane and of certain other institutions. "
[Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Finance. ]

By Mr. Warfield: Senate Bill No. 305, entitled "An Act to
authorize and direct the State Lunacy Commission to cause a
survey to be made of the feeble-minded in this State, other
than the insane and epileptic, and to report to the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1918 a plan for the prevention,
segregation and training of mental defectives; to consult ex-
perts and to co-operate with any national agency in said work;
and appropriating f 1, 000 for the said survey. " [Which was
read the first time and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]

By Mr. Bomberger: Senate Bill No. 306, entitled "An Act
to repeal and. re-enact, with amendments, Section 364 of the
Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled 'Washington County, '

sub title 'Smithsburg. '" [Which was read the first time and
referred to Senators Bomberger, Warfield and Kaufman. ]

By Mr. Zihlman: Senate Bill No. 307, entitled "An Act to
authorize and direct the County Commissioners of Allegany
county to provide for the building of a foot bridge across
the Potomac River from a point on Water street, in the city
of Cumberland. " [Which was read the first time and referred
to Senators Zihlman, Speicher and Bomberger. ]
