By the President: Senate Bill No. 281, entitled "An Act to
give and declare the sanction of the General Assembly of
Maryland to the bequest to Henry J. Otterbein, the Rector of
St. James Catholic Church in the City of Baltimore, under the
will of Mary B. Werger, wherein she gave to the Rector of
the Redemptorists of St. James Roman Catholic Church in the
City of Baltimore, the property known as Nos. 935 and 937
Somerset street. " [Which was read the first time and referred
to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
By Mr. Cooper: Senate Bill No. 282, entitled "An Act to
repeal Section 3 and Section 5 of Chapter 178 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland^ passed at the January session
of 1896, entitled 'An Act to incorporate the town of Ridgely,
Caroline county, Maryland, ' and to re-enact the same with
amendments and to add a new section to said Chapter 178 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at said
session, to be designated as Section 24-A, which shall follow
immediately after Section 24 of said Chapter 178. " [Which
was read the first time and referred to Senators Cooper, Legg
and Collier. ]
By Mr. Parsons: Senate Bill No. 283, entitled "An Act to re-
fund to L. E. P. Dennis of Crisfield, Md., a certain sum of
money erroneously paid into the State Treasury. " [Which

nance. ]
By Mr. Allen, by request: Senate Bill No. 284, entitled "An
Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 4, 5, 25,
29, 30, 31, 88-A, 260 and 346 of Article 23 of Bagby's Anno-
tated Code of the Civil Laws of Maryland, title 'Corporations, '
sub-title 'Provisions for the Formation of Corporations, ' and
adding a new section to said Article 23, to follow immediately
after Section 4 thereof and to be known as Section 4-A. "
