By Mr. Legg: Senate Bill No. 190, entitled "An Act to finally
ratify, approve and confirm the expenditure by the municipal
corporation, the Town Commissioners of Centreville, in the
payment of the cost and expense of the grading and improve-
ment of Water street in said town of Centreville, of the unex-
pended balance of twenty-nine hundred and fifty dollars ($2, -
950) remaining, after the completion of the grading and im-
provement of Commerce street, out of the sum of ten thousand
one hundred and eighteen dollars and six cents (f 10, 118. 06)
received by said municipal corporation, the Town Commis-
sioners of Centreville, as the proceeds from the sale of the
bonds issued and sold by said municipal corporation, pursuant
to and by virtue of the power and authority conferred upon
said municipal corporation by Chapter 440 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed at its January session,
1914. " [Which was read the first time and referred to Sena-

By Mr. Kaufman: Senate Bill No. 191, entitled "An Act
to appropriate the sum of forty thousand dollars ($40, 000)
to the Maryland School for the Deaf, at Frederick, for its
maintenance for the education of the deaf and dumb during
the fiscal year ending on the thirtieth day of September, 1917,
and the like sum of forty thousand dollars ($40, 000) to the
same institution for its maintenance during the fiscal year
ending on the thirtieth day of September, 1918. " [Which

Finance. ]

to give the sanction of the General Assembly of Maryland to
a certain bequest in the last will and testament of Charles W.
Haffman, late of Frederick county, Maryland, deceased, to the
President and Council of Mt. St. Mary's College, near Emmits-
burg, Frederick county, Maryland. " [Which was read the
first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings. ]
